Item #002: Armisport m1861 Springfield
Used reproduction muskets have been getting harder to find over the past several years. In addition, their price and the price of new guns from Italy have gone up like many other things in the world. This is a nice reproduction musket that is used but not abused. It has a layer of patina on it that could easily be cleaned off to restore the musket to its original armory bright appearance. The stock is in good condition and has no cracks. The lock functions fine and the bore is in very good condition, free of any pitting. The lone alteration since its manufacture is a small peep hole in the middle leaf that could easily be replaced. This would be an excellent candidate to defarb as well and priced low enough to do it all for under what new muskets cost from Italy.
